Beyonce, Diddy Design Re-Election Swag For President Obama

'Runway to Win' effort will donate proceeds to president's campaign.

<P>Beyoncé was clearly keeping very busy in the weeks leading up to the birth of <I>Billboard</I> record-setting baby <a href="/news/articles/1677163/beyonce-jay-z-baby-blue-carter-glory-song.jhtml">Blue Ivy</a> . Among the projects she participated in is "Runway to Win," in which a number of celebrities and fashion industry icons were tapped to design T-shirts and other swag for President Obama's re-election campaign. According to <a href="http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2012/01/obama-re-election-campaign-fashion-designers.html" target="_blank"><I>New York</I> magazine</a>, the effort was spearheaded by <I>Vogue</I> editor Anna Wintour, who wrangled a number of her friends and fashion world peers to design shirts, tote bags, scarves and bracelets for the Obama campaign. In addition to Beyoncé, Diddy and hip-hip impresario Russell Simmons, others who've thrown in include First Lady Michelle Obama fave designer Jason Wu, as well as Rachel Roy, Narciso Rodriguez, Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, rag & bone, Altuzarra, Alexander Wang, Tory Burch and Tracy Reese. <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:722792/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D722792%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A722792%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a>'s <a href="http://store.barackobama.com/runway-to-win/beyonce-tina-knowles.html" target="_blank">effort</a>, designed in conjunction with her mother, Tina Knowles, is a $45 white T-shirt with the phrases "yes we can," "words do inspire" and "transform a nation together," randomly scattered across the front in different fonts. Simmons' and Diddy's shirts have not yet been revealed. The current fundraiser is a sequel of sorts to a similar campaign in 2008 called "Runway to Change," and the proceeds will go to the Obama Victory Fund. Pre-orders are being taken now and all the items are slated to go on sale online on February 7. Though much of the attention has been focused on the increasingly nasty battle among a group of Republican politicians fighting to gain their <a href="/news/articles/1677067/new-hampshire-primary-mitt-romney-wins.jhtml">party's presidential nomination</a>, as MTV's <a href="http://powerof12.org/" target="_blank">Powerof12</a> has reported in both <a href="/news/articles/1676704/obama-supporters-tuning-out-iowa-caucus-noise.jhtml">Iowa</a>  and <a href="/news/articles/1677058/new-hampshire-obama-supporters.jhtml">New Hampshire</a> , the Obama re-election campaign is in full gear as well.</p>

Bieber debuts 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' video (and performs with Busta Rhymes and Usher) during 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center.'

<P>Deck the halls! The holiday kicked into high gear Wednesday night (November 30) when New York's massive Christmas tree was lit during "Christmas in Rockefeller Center." Plenty of A-listers were on hand, including Justin Bieber, who premiered his highly anticipated <a href="/news/articles/1673689/justin-bieber-mariah-carey-christmas-video.jhtml">video for "All I Want for Christmas Is You,"</a> featuring Mariah Carey. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:715720" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Before the strings of lights were illuminated, performances from Michael Bublé, Katharine McPhee, Big Time Rush, Tony Bennett, Carole King and Neil Diamond warmed viewers up. But Bieber was the headline act of the night, giving fans some big performances and an even bigger video premiere. Bieber amped up the energy with his hip-hop-ified take on the Christmas classic <a href="/news/articles/1673334/justin-bieber-mariah-carey-christmas-song.jhtml">"Little Drummer Boy,"</a> which included him spitting a holiday-themed rhyme. Decked in all black, the teen star had the crowd screaming. He was even joined by Busta Rhymes, who appears on the <i>Under the Mistletoe</i> cut. JB then slowed things down with <a href="/news/articles/1673032/justin-bieber-usher-christmas-song.jhtml">"The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),"</a> leaving his female fans swooning as he crooned the holiday standard. He was joined by his mentor Usher for the track. "God bless and Merry Christmas," Bieber told the crowd before tossing to the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" video. The clip features Mariah Carey dressed in a sexy Santa Claus outfit standing in a department store as she dances around singing the track, almost as if she's on display for holiday shoppers. It also sees Bieber and his pals shopping for some choice holiday gifts like high-top kicks. In between performance shots of Bieber and Mariah, a street-corner Santa Claus hands out envelopes to shoppers on the street, teasing an inevitable yuletide party scene. The shoppers are then welcomed into the department store, where Justin and Mariah hand out gifts to everyone. The duo tease and flirt with each other as everyone around them unwraps their gifts. Bieber and Carey re-recorded her classic holiday tune for his chart-topping holiday album, which also features appearances from the Band Perry and Boyz II Men. This year's Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue features some of the most dazzling starlets in Hollywood. The '20s-inspired cover includes Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling all dolled up in vintage, satiny, pastel-hued gowns.

Standing center-stage on the cover is Lawrence in a silver gown alongside Mara, Chastain and Wasikowska. Shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, the shoot was meant to pay homage to Art Deco and Jazz Age designs.

In behind-the-scenes footage, Mara confesses to having a teenage crush on Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and owns up to a "guilty pleasure" love for "Zoolander." "I would watch playback sometimes if it would be helpful," she later says about her Oscar-nominated work in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," noting that she has yet to see the film in its entirety. Lawrence also opened up on the set of the shoot talking about her own teen idols. "When I was little," she recalled, "I guess '90s era, I had such a big crush on Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC that I almost threw up." These days the "Hunger Games" actress' idols include the Coen Brothers, Renée Zellweger and Tommy Lee Jones.

In other VF news, Kristen Stewart was spotted wearing some really high-end couture in Paris for her own shoot for the magazine. The spread, also shot by Testino, will appear in an issue later this year. In photos on E! News, the "Snow White" actress looks like the fairest of them all in her blue-and-black tulle and feather-adorned ball gown. She tops off the look with a black geometric-style fascinator.

The singer is being remembered by <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a>, who has quite the history with her. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:727109.id:1677649" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. The performance was initially met with some criticism from the always-outspoken James, but she later came around. <P>Fox's song-and-dance series "Glee" is no stranger to a star-studded cameo or two, with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, John Stamos and Kristin Chenoweth all walking the halls of McKinley High during the past two and a half seasons. And as the show returns from a month-long hiatus, Gleeks aren't the only ones anticipating a few more famous faces. As star Chris Colfer told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet, there's plenty to look forward to when New Directions warble again January 17. "Well, the Michael Jackson episode ...," Colfer answered when asked about his most-anticipated upcoming episodes. "We have a Spanish episode coming up with Ricky Martin. As to how the King of Pop's prolific songbook will manifest itself in the January 31 tribute episode, Colfer explained, "Well, I sing part of 'Black [or] White.' I'm the 'White' in 'Black [or] White,' and I sing 'Ben,' that famous song he wrote for the rat." The rodent in question is the pet of a young boy named Danny in the 1972 film "Ben." Jackson sang a version of the theme song that appeared in the movie's closing credits and was later included on his 1972 album also named <em>Ben</em>. Wendy discussed the GQ article at length asking him about his money woes (he had tons of bad investments), why he doesn't trust anyone (a friend stole $300K + Mo and Kita pitched a TV behind his back), his 4 baby mamas (he said he loves his kids but really didn't know any of the women) and why he is lonely (the grandmother who raised him passed away recently).

He also shared that he is now a part of an indoor football league and hopes to return to the NFL one day.

After the show, Wendy sat down and gave her opinion about the interview wondering if we should feel sorry for T.O. or not. Sigh.....

Smith (currently playing for the Chinese Basketball Asso.) have been blamed for a fight that broke out last night during J.R.'s Zhejiang squad's game against the host Tianjin. After fans heckled J.R., his girlfriend got into a shoving match with Tianjin fans while his sister Stephanie flipped the crowd the double-bird.

Though she also had a fight earlier this month, Stephanie said this one wasn't her fault and she was just defending herself. She tweeted, 1st of all neither of us is embarrassed by each other. 2nd of all if ppl are throwing things and spitting at u what do u do?

<P><b>NEW YORK</b> — <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jay_z/artist.jhtml">Jay-Z</a> has a lot to celebrate. A little over a week ago, he and wife <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> welcomed daughter <a href="/news/articles/1676906/beyonce-jay-z-baby-born-ivy-blue.jhtml">Blue Ivy Carter</a> into the world, and on Wednesday night, big poppa Hov had a bit of business to attend to at the reopening of his 40/40 Club. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:726477" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The stars came out and walked the red carpet before entering the redesigned sports bar. Jay's buddies Warren Buffet, Spike Lee, Steve Stoute, Kevin Liles and New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia all attended. "Hov always has big parties, so I'm definitely looking forward to going inside and mingling and jingling," Ashanti said. "We here at the reopening of the 40/40; we about to have a couple of drinks, a lot of beautiful women, New York City, the new joint — you already know," Wale said excitedly. Jigga's 40/40 closed last summer to undergo renovations and is now back with an updated look. While everyone was excited about the new club, baby Blue Ivy was a hot topic on the carpet. Ashanti couldn't be happier for the new parents, but when asked if she had caught a bit of baby fever herself, the "Foolish" singer made it clear that she isn't ready to be a mother just yet. "Oh no, boo-boo, no baby over here. Editor's note: While Us Weekly originally reported that "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker would replace Demi Moore as Gloria Steinem in "Lovelace," the filmmakers have confirmed to MTV News that Moore's actual replacement is Sarah Jessica Parker.

Amid her personal woes, Demi Moore, who had been set to play Gloria Steinem in the Linda Lovelace biopic, has been replaced by "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker.

Sources confirm to UsMagazine.com that the TV star will fill in for Moore, who had to drop out of the film earlier this week after she was hospitalized for "exhaustion." On Thursday, there was speculation that Chloë Sevigny would play the feminist icon when she was cast as a feminist journalist, but now it seems that those are two different roles.

"Lovelace" is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Amanda Seyfried playing the film's central character, '70s porn actress Linda Lovelace.

As the Demi drama rolls on, there are reports that Madonna reached out to the actress shortly after she was hospitalized. Moore has since been released from the L.A.-area hospital.

Sources tells E! News that the singer called her actress pal. "Madonna told Demi she was there if she needs anything," the E! source says, adding, "They're pretty tight."

The ladies last hung out during Golden Globes weekend, and they reportedly were going to see one another again over Super Bowl weekend; Madge is slated to perform during the halftime show. The status of their annual post-Oscars bash is currently up in the air.

While speculation runs rampant about why Moore was hospitalized, sources say that her ex, Ashton Kutcher, is "deeply concerned" for her. Moore is rumored to have been doing nitrous oxide before landing in the hospital. "He still cares about her and wants the best for her," the source added. "But their marriage is ending and they are both moving on with their lives."

<P>At Tuesday's (November 29) sentencing hearing for Dr. Conrad Murray — where Michael Jackson's former personal physician received <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">four years in jail for involuntary manslaughter</a> — a statement from Jackson's parents was read in court. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:708788.id:1673923" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "We still look at each other in disbelief: Is it really possible he is gone? It is simply against the natural order of things," Joe and Katherine Jackson said in the statement, read by Jackson family attorney Brian Panish. "We are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back." <a href="http://www.facebook.com/mtvnews/posts/199210760161755" target="_blank"><b>Do you think Conrad Murray deserved the maximum sentence? In regards to the sentence, the family said in the statement: "We respectfully request you impose a sentence that reminds physicians they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder." The judge agreed, lamenting that due to a new California law to address overcrowding in prisons, he was unable to sentence Murray to state prison. Stating that Murray practiced "horrible medicine" and had "absolutely no remorse," Judge Michael Pastor declined the defense's motion for probation and handed down the stiffest sentence possible — four years — which Murray will most likely serve in a Los Angeles county jail or on home confinement. Upon leaving the courthouse, Michael's brother Jermaine, when asked if the four-year sentence was enough, shook his head and said, "No." Katherine told local TV station KTLA, "Four years is not enough for someone's life. It won't bring him back. But at least he got the maximum, and I thought the judge was very, very fair."</p>

Set to work with fellow hitmaker <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cruz__taio/artist.jhtml">Taio Cruz</a>, the two already cooked up some magic with their <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/guetta_david/artist.jhtml">David Guetta</a> anthem <a href="/news/articles/1670301/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml">"Without You,"</a> and it seems they are hoping to recapture that spirit for Usher's follow-up to 2010's <i>Raymond v. Raymond</i>. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:717257" width="240" height="211"></div><p> "I saw Usher a few times, but I spoke to him at length at David [Guetta]'s house when we were in Ibiza [Spain]," he told MTV News in L.A. after his Jingle Ball set. "He has very specific ideas of where he wants to go musically and sound-wise." Given that Usher has never shied away from exposing a bit of himself in his music, while also keeping the party going, Cruz wants to make sure they can connect the mind, body and soul for this next release. "He always wants there to be the soul in there," he explained. "I'm kind of, not the opposite, but I'm always like, 'Let's get straight to the point and be really clear with the message and be simple.' "So we try to match those two worlds together: being soulful and, at the same time, catchy," he added. Cruz can't yet discuss what they're working on: Besides "Without You," he said, "Everything else is secret." Usher said he was drawn to the <a href="/news/articles/1674782/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml">Guetta hit</a> because he connected to it emotionally, explaining to MTV News recently what an important part that plays in his musical philosophy. "I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," he said. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. On Friday, hours after the news of their impending marriage was confirmed, the singer took to her Facebook page to make it official, changing her <a href="https://www.facebook.com/britney" target="_blank">relationship status</a> to "engaged." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:720382" width="240" height="211"></div><p> She also shared with her fans on Twitter just how excited she is to be tying the knot with longtime boyfriend Trawick. Throwing a Bday Party for Jason at Chateau Night Club. So fun. Xxoo. Spears rocked not only a body-hugging Hervé Léger bandage dress, but also her Neil Lane engagement ring. "Tonight was one of the most magical nights of my life," she later wrote on Twitter. "Such an amazing time with my new fiance and our closest friends and family. #Blessed" While Spears was celebrating, her ex-husband Kevin Federline sent out his well-wishes. Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

<P>Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off <MTVNLINK type="url" id="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</MTVNLINK>'s 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again." That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on <a href="/news/articles/1610708/adam-allison-shine-on-idol-rock-night.jhtml">"American Idol" rock night</a> Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on <I>Rolling Stone</i> magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004. </p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"> <embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtvmusic.com:84215" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="dist=http://www.mtvmusic.com" allowFullScreen="true" AllowScriptAccess="always"></embed></div><p> The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album <I>Led Zeppelin II.</i> Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon. For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997. Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. A cornerstone of heavy rock, the tune -- which was the theme song for the long-running British countdown show "Top of the Pops" in the 1970s and '80s -- has been covered by dozens of artists over the years, from Tina Turner and Ben Harper to Prince, Slash, Leona Lewis, Train's Pat Monahan, the London Symphony Orchestra and Jane's Addiction. <b>Get your "Idol" fix on MTV News' <a href="/news/articles/1486475/mtv-news-american-idol.jhtml">"American Idol" page</a>, where you'll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.</b></p>

Brightening up the streets of Calabasas, Kim Kardashian looked yummy in yellow as she ventured over to the Calabasas Commons shopping center on Sunday afternoon (January 29).

In the teaser, Miss Kardashian's heard saying of the inevitable split, "It's hard for me. He's a good heart, he's a Christian - everything on paper I want in someone, but for some reason, my heart isn't connecting."

"I feel awful that I made him move out here and change his whole life. I feel sad, I feel bad for the guy," Kim continues, with all of the drama set to unfold beginning tonight at 10/9c on E!
