Congrats, Lindsay! Lohan's Probation Officially Ends

The world's longest probation (or, at least, what seemed like it) has come to an end, and Lindsay Lohan is a free woman! Yes, almost five years after the DUI arrest that sent her spiraling down a legal rabbit-hole, Lohan, 25, has fulfilled the terms of her probation.

Vanessa Hudgens & Selena Gomez: Neon Bikini Babes

Sporting bright bikinis on the set of their new film, Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted prettying up the scenery in St. Petersburg, FL on Tuesday (March 28).

As Miss Hudgens was spotted frolicking in the ocean in a neon green string bikini with her blonde locks, an equally-hot Miss Gomez was busy hanging around the pool in an aqua two-piece swimsuit, backwards baseball cap and tennis shoes.

With Ashley Benson also on-hand, the trio of bikini babes are working on their newest film, ?Spring Breakers,? which follows four college friends who try to fund their latest spring break trip by robbing a restaurant, which of course leads them straight to the slammer where they get bailed out by a drug dealer who is looking for them to do some dirty work.

The Harmony Korine film, which is set to release in 2013, also stars Rachel Korine and James Franco.

Hilary Swank's Artsy Da Vinci Night in Paris

Stepping out for an exquisite event in the City of Lights, Hilary Swank attended Leonardo Da Vinci?s latest exhibition ?The Saint Anne? at Muse du Louvre in Paris, France on Tuesday (March 27).

The Academy Award winning actress looked elegant in a plum colored knee length dress with black pointed toe heels and natural makeup as she posed for photographers at the Salvatore Ferragamo sponsored art gathering.

The masterpiece, which was left unfinished when Da Vinci died in 1519, depicts a picture of baby Jesus grappling with a lamb beside his mother and grandmother.

The painting - which is known as Da Vinci?s ?last masterpiece? - underwent restoration for necessary reasons and will go on display for the public to see on Thursday as part of a major exhibit.

'Hunger Games' Brought Elizabeth Banks To Tears

'It's the greatest movie of all time,' actress declares to MTV News.

As an enormous fan of "The Hunger Games," Elizabeth Banks got to live out any book lover's dream by starring in the film adaptation. The end result, in Banks' objective opinion, was nothing short of the best movie ever.

"Totally unbiased, as if I was just off the street: It's the greatest movie of all time," she declared. "It's really good."

Banks spoke with MTV News' Josh Horowitz about her emotional experience making the film and the real-life inspiration for her portrayal of Effie Trinket.

Spoilers ahead.

After seeing the completed film, one of the scenes that stuck out for Banks was Rue's funeral, shortly after she's killed in the Games. "I always knew that Rue's funeral would be amazing. I mean, it's one of my favorite parts of the book," Banks said. "I think everybody loves the relationship between Katniss and Rue, and her funeral is exactly how I imagined it, just really beautiful. That she sings to her is amazing, and it's so emotional. It's a five-hanky moment. There's some serious bawling happening by dudes in the theater."

Being a part of the actual filming of the story didn't make watching the final product any less emotional for Banks. Even she couldn't help but shed a few tears. "When watching it, I totally cried. I cried making the movie, seriously," Banks said. "When we were shooting the Reaping, and the very first time Jennifer [Lawrence] came out and said, 'I volunteer. I volunteer.' I think it was rehearsal; we weren't even shooting yet. I was like, 'That's the most amazing thing.' "

As with all adaptations of books, not everything can be as the reader imagines. But Banks said that made "The Hunger Games" even better. "There were a couple things that weren't how I pictured it, but I'm not even sure that I pictured Effie's hair the way Effie's hair ultimately ended up being, but I love everything," she said. "It was better than what I thought. That's what I loved about it. There were a lot of things that were a lot cooler than I thought they'd be."

To bring Effie to life, Banks worked closely with crew to create a truly unique villainess. As it turns out, the secrets to Effie's origins lie in Hollywood history. "I had amazing collaborators, first of all, Gary Ross. Gary said, in his mind's eye, he always imagined Effie's face was like Joel Grey in 'Cabaret.' If you remember, he had really white skin, cracked and messed up, just kind of grotesque," Banks explained. "Because Effie's a villain, we really wanted her to be a little villainous in that way, so that was our jumping-off point."

Similarly, Banks owed the inspiration for Effie's theatrical voice to one of the screen's most iconic leading ladies. "[The voice] was very much inspired by Rosalind Russell's 'Auntie Mame.' I really felt like Effie is everyone's 'Auntie Mame,' just an outrageous person who says all of the wrong things and has all these crazy friends and lives a very extravagant lifestyle that's beyond her," Banks said. "She's one of my favorite performers, and it's one of my favorite performances. She just has that great New York Broadway accent in the film, so that was my jumping-off point for Effie."

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Britney Spears' Big 2011: From A Smash Album To A Ring On Her Finger

A decade into her career, the pop megastar reinvented herself this year as the ultimate Femme Fatale and made a big commitment to Jason Trawick.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>Maybe <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>' lucky number is 30. The singer turned 30 this year, marking the landmark birthday on December 2 with a fan-voted MTV News tournament that crowned <a href="/news/articles/1675289/britney-spears-tournament-winner-30th-birthday.jhtml">the Best Britney Video of All Time</a>. But her 30th year also proved to be an incredibly successful period in her career. </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:720934/cp~vid%3D720934%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A720934" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>For the first time in a while, she seemed comfortable being the pop megastar that she is. More than a decade into her career, Spears re-emerged as a <a href="/news/articles/1675474/britney-spears-femme-fatale-favorite-album.jhtml"><i>Femme Fatale,</i></a> giving fans a fist-pumping album, embarking on a flashy tour and dropping more memorable music videos. Britney Spears fandom was reenergized as the singer came out of her shell, opening up about this phase in her career as well her personal life in several high-profile interviews. So it's probably not surprising that Spears will cap off the year at #4 on MTV News' <a href="/news/articles/1676177/newsmakers-2011-lady-gaga-amy-winehouse.jhtml">Top Newsmakers of 2011</a> list, just behind Lil Wayne. </P><P> </P><P>"When I was younger, I was busy, busy, and I was always singing and dancing all the time. I was just really creative," she recalled in the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/638813/britney-hits-the-studio-with-william.jhtml#id=166112">MTV special "I Am the Femme Fatale."</a> "That's when my mom realized I'm a really creative person." </P><P> </P><P>She let that creativity shine over the past 12 months. From <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/britney-spears/624145/hold-it-against-me.jhtml#artist=501686">"Hold It Against Me"</a> to <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/britney-spears/639722/till-the-world-ends.jhtml#artist=501686">"Till the World Ends"</a> to her Chris Marrs Piliero-directed "I Wanna Go" and "Criminal," Britney made headlines every time she dropped a music video. But no vid stirred up as much controversy as her <a href="/news/articles/1672795/britney-spears-criminal-video-director.jhtml">"Criminal" clip</a>, which featured real-life boyfriend <a href="/news/articles/1676120/britney-spears-is-engaged.jhtml">(now fianc&#233;) Jason Trawick</a> &#8212; and his abs. </P><P> </P><P>"At the end of the day, Jason killed it," Piliero told MTV News of Trawick's cameo. "That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, 'Wow, he's not an actor. This is going to be interesting,' but I really do like a challenge, and I really do like the idea that I'm a director and my job is to direct and get the performance. For me, it was a fun challenge to be like, 'I'm gonna make sure that you are awesome,' and he was." </P><P> </P><P>Between video shoots, Spears hit the road with <a href="/news/articles/1668836/nicki-minaj-britney-spears-tour.jhtml">the likes of Nicki Minaj</a>, Joe Jonas, and DJ Pauly D. Spears fully embraced her sensuality on the <i>Femme Fatale</i> Tour, a spectacular show full of costume changes, elaborate stage setups and stunning mini-films. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Hits The Studio With will.i.am" id="vid:638813.id:1661123" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>And while much of the 2011 VMA buzz was about <a href="/news/articles/1669849/beyonce-pregnant-vmas.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;'s baby bump</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1669843/lady-gaga-you-and-i-video-music-awards-performance.jhtml">Jo Calderone</a>, Spears stole the spotlight by walking away with a Moonman for Best Pop Video and the prized <a href="/news/articles/1669873/britney-spears-vma-tribute.jhtml">Video Vanguard Award</a>. She also had tongues wagging after an onstage kiss from Jo (a.k.a. Lady Gaga), just before she was honored with an electrifying dance tribute that highlighted some of biggest career moments. </P><P> </P><P>"It was really crazy. I had no idea what to expect," Spears told us backstage at the VMAs. "The kids were amazing and so entertaining, and it was a really fun night. It was really cool. I was like, 'Wow, that's really sweet!' " </P><P> </P><P>As 2011 came to a close, Spears wrapped up her tour, and MTV News threw her a birthday bash in the form of the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/content/news/2011/britney30/index.jhtml">"30 Videos for 30 Years"</a> tournament. The competition was heated but in the end, Spears' iconic "I'm a Slave 4 U" took home the prize. And just when it seemed things couldn't get any better, <a href="/news/articles/1676167/britney-spears-jason-trawick-engaged-timeline.jhtml">Britney confirmed she was engaged</a> to Trawick after dating for two years. 'Dark Shadows' Trailer Divides Fans

Our columnist defends Tim Burton's comedic re-imagining of the vampire soap.
By John Mitchell

The first trailer for Tim Burton's big-screen adaptation of the late-'60s/ early-'70s vampire soap opera "Dark Shadows" dropped Thursday, and it has sharply divided fans.

In one corner are "Shadows" purists, who seem none too pleased with the director's decision to re-imagine the campy but deadly serious soap as a gonzo comedy. In the other corner are more casual fans and Burton enthusiasts, who are seeing shades of "Beetlejuice" and "Edward Scissorhands" and loving it.

I'm on the record as falling in the latter category. I grew up on reruns of the original soap (yeah, I was a weird kid) and also loved NBC's short-lived prime-time reboot in the early '90s. If the original series was a true-to-genre soap opera (just, you know, with a heavier lean on the supernatural), the '90s take was "Melrose Place"-meets-"Twin Peaks" but with fangs. The problem is, a straight take on the original (which is where Burton's loyalties lie — he's never given any indication he cares about the TV reboot) wouldn't fly with today's sophisticated film audience, and playing to the '90s retread would have resulted in a film that would have a lot in common with Neil Jordan's "Interview With the Vampire." And while that's certainly not a bad thing — "Interview" is a killer vampire flick — it has nothing to do with Tim Burton.

For its '90s return, "Shadows" turned up the sex factor; it was a sudsy drama with a chest-baring Ben Cross as Barnabas, Angelique busting out of her corset and a plot that focused heavily on Barnabas' attempts to cure his vampirism so he could bring the sexytimes with Victoria Winters, whom he suspected may have been the reincarnation of Josette DuPres, the love of his mortal life back in the late 18th century.

That's all well and good, and a big-screen treatment of that might have even played well. But that was never going to happen with Burton at the helm; it's not his game. The dark and spooky aesthetic he created for films like "Sleepy Hollow" and "Sweeney Todd" had the look fans of the series were after, and I think that — mixed with Burton's fanboy enthusiasm for the project — is why purists were so psyched that he was directing. But Burton doesn't really do romance, particularly not lusty, forbidden love stories.

'Dark Shadows' Trailer: Love It Or Hate It? (Poll)

There are several directors who do, and who do it well, including "Shadows" star Michelle Pfeiffer's frequent collaborator Stephen Frears ("Dangerous Liaisons," "Cheri," "Mary Reilly") and "Interview" director Jordan ("The End of the Affair," "The Crying Game"). Joe Wright ("Atonement," "Pride and Prejudice," the upcoming "Anna Karenina") has practically built his career on the stuff.

But I suspect they wouldn't have been able to grasp the weirdo wonderment that makes "Shadows" so special to fans. It's based on a soap, after all, and is so over-the-top that to direct it as a straight romantic vampire drama might have meant significant alterations to the story to "normalize" it. It would have had to be boiled down to the basics. That still might have made for a good film, but (real talk) it also might have meant that something really dynamic would be translated into a highbrow, slightly more horror-leaning version of "Twilight." And, um, no one wants that.

On the flip side, if Burton had kept the deliberately exaggerated and theatrical style of the original without acknowledging the comedy inherent in going so over-the-top (this is the literal definition of "camp"), it would have been unwatchably ridiculous. Soaps are absurd but play their ridiculousness with the utmost seriousness. It's something we all know and accept about them, but it's not something that would work, not even for a second, on the big screen — particularly in a big-budget film starring two three-time Oscar nominees (Johnny Depp and Pfeiffer), the twice-nominated Helena Bonham Carter and "Little Children" nominee Jackie Earle Haley.

The only thing left for Burton to do was turn the volume up even higher and trust his talented actors to work their magic with what better be a damn clever script. It's hard to embrace absurdity without it coming across as farce, but you know who is a master of doing exactly that? Tim Burton. He did it in "Beetlejuice" and "Edward Scissorhands." He even brought some genuine emotion to it with the more delicate "Ed Wood."

It's been a while since Burton worked this particular magic, but after seeing the "Shadows" trailer I'm feeling like he may have done it again.

Taylor Swift Tops Billboard 2012 Top Money Makers

Lady Gaga, Adele and Lil Wayne make top 10.
By Gil Kaufman

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Lady Gaga</a>, Katy Perry and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Adele</a> had huge years in 2011, with major tours, strings of hit singles, Grammy wins and #1-hogging chart-topping albums. But when <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news/music-s-top-40-money-makers-2012-1006415552.story#/news/music-s-top-40-money-makers-2012-1006415552.story" target="_blank"><I>Billboard</I></a> magazine compiled its 2012 list of "Music's Top 40 Money Makers" it was <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Taylor Swift</a> who ruled them all. In fact, the 22-year-old country-pop darling out-earned all of her fellow ladies combined. </P><P> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:732753/cp~vid%3D732753%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A732753" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> </P><P> </P><P>According to the magazine's calculations, Swift earned her #1 spot on the list thanks to reported earnings of $35.7 million in the 2011 calendar year. Those earnings came from a combination of revenue from the quadruple-platinum-plus sales of <I>Speak Now</I> and its accompanying tour, which grossed $88.5 million in the U.S. alone. </P><P> </P><P>But because Swift writes her own songs, she rolled up a big chunk of change in songwriting royalties as well. </P><P> </P><P>Right behind Swift was iconic rock band U2, who earned a reported $32.1 million thanks to their record-setting 360 Tour -- which grossed a whopping $736 million total over two years -- including $50 million in merchandise sales and 1.4 million in digital track sales. </P><P> </P><P>Country singer Kenny Chesney was #3 with $29.8 million, followed by previous tally topper Gaga at #4 with $25.3 million. She stayed in the top 5 thanks to sales of <I>Born This Way</I> and its accompanying Monster Ball Tour, which grossed more than $51 million. She also moved 12.7 million digital tracks. Lil Wayne rounded out the top 5 with $23.1 million, made up of 12.3 million digital track sales, $44.7 million in tour grosses and cash from his gig as founder of Young Money Entertainment. </P><P> </P><P>The rest of the top 10: Sade (#6, $16.3 million), Bon Jovi (#7, $15.8 million), Celine Dion (#8, $14.2 million) and Jason Aldean (#9, $13.4 million). Adele rounded out the top 10 list at #10 with $13 million, mostly from the unstoppable streak of her <I>21</I> album's <a href="/news/articles/1680635/adele-21-album-billboard-charts.jhtml">chart run,</a>&#8232; which included sales of 6.7 million copies last year alone. </P><P> </P><P>The "Glee" cast were just outside the top 10 at #11 ($12.5 million), Katy Perry hit #14 ($11.9 million), Britney Spears was at #16 ($10 million) and like her sisters in pop, Rihanna made it to #22 ($7.6 million) through a combination of album and single sales and touring revenue. </P><P> </P><P>Other notable entries: Enrique Iglesias (#23, $7.4 million), Usher (#30, $6.2 million), Foo Fighters (#31, $6 million), Justin Bieber (#35, $5.5 million), Kanye West (#39, $5.3 million) and Linkin Park (#40, $5.1 million). </P><P> </P><P><i>Billboard</i> calculated the figures based on proprietary data from its Boxscore archives for concert grosses, Nielsen SoundScan for sales of physical and digital albums, singles and ringtone sales, and Nielsen BDS for terrestrial radio play and streaming service information.</p>

Jessica Simpson Does Date Night With Eric Following a Big Fashion Star Week

Jessica Simpson and her fianc Eric Johnson kicked off their weekend with a date night at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills yesterday. It was a big week for Jessica following the premiere of her new reality competition, Fashion Star, on Tuesday. The show allows viewers to buy items from select designers in stores the day after the episode airs, and on Wednesday, six winning looks went on sale, with some selling out, at H&M, Macy's, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Jessica's small-screen project is off to a good start, which hopefully means she'll have time to focus on the upcoming arrival of her first child with Eric. Jessica revealed that they are expecting a girl, and if rumors that Jessica's baby shower is this Sunday hold true, she may be unwrapping plenty of pink items in a few days.

Beyonce's First Post-Baby Appearance Was Picture-'Perfect'

'It's perfect for this private couple,' one celebrity expert tells MTV News of B's low-key NYC outing.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>It was only a month ago that fans were wondering when the first images of new mom <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> might hit the Net. On Monday night, those questions were answered. Just four weeks after giving birth to daughter <a href="/news/articles/1677033/blue-ivy-beyonce-jay-z-leaves-hospital.jhtml">Blue Ivy</a>, B was back on the scene to celebrate hubby <a href="/news/articles/1678669/jay-z-carnegie-hall.jhtml">Jay-Z's first show at Carnegie Hall</a>. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:731725" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Wearing a form-fitting red dress, she hit up a post-show party held at Jay's 40/40 Club in New York City. And while <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/07/beyonce-carnegie-hall-jay-z-show">Beyonc&#233; could have premiered</a> her <a href="/news/articles/1678670/beyonce-post-baby-appearance-jay-z.jhtml">post-baby body</a> on a splashy red carpet, celebrity experts note that the more understated move is very B. </P><P> </P><P>"It's perfect for this private couple. She didn't make a big deal walking a red carpet at an award show or posing on the cover of a magazine," Huffington Post celebrity columnist Rob Shuter told MTV News on Tuesday (February 7). "Beyonc&#233; made it as low-key an event as possible and at the same time plugged her husband's club." </P><P> </P><P><b><a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/08/beyonce-photos-carnegie-hall-night-two/">Check out more photos from B's night out!</a></b> </P><P> </P><P>For the appearance, Beyonc&#233; was decked out in a fiery-red Temperley London dress, Christian Louboutin heels and an Alexander McQueen clutch. While that may sound very glam, another expert was surprised by just how modest the look actually was. </P><P> </P><P>"Beyonc&#233; looks amazing in her first post-baby appearance. Even thought it made sense for her to make her debut last night to show her support for her husband and the charity his concert benefited, her outfit was fairly simple," celebrity editor <a href="http://gossipdavid.com" target="_blank">David Caplan</a> said. </P><P> </P><P>"I expected her to make her post-baby debut at a really glitzy event or awards show, like maybe the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys">Grammys</a>, in a gorgeous gown and really steal the show. But clearly she wanted to be seen, since she even posted photos of herself right away on her website, which stars don't typically do &#8212; they'll just let the media pick up and run the photos." </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:724228.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>So, will B and Jay play it just as cool when it comes to releasing the first shot of their newborn? "It will be a [paparazzi] shot taken on the beach or when the couple is on vacation," Shuter predicted. "They won't reveal the baby to get a [magazine] cover like Bethenny [Frankel] or those other reality stars." </P><P> </P><P>Caplan also proposed that a baby photo will probably leak. "As for when will we see baby Blue, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of grainy-looking paparazzi photo emerges," he said. "Those photographers are very crafty, even if Beyonc&#233; and Jay-Z think they're doing all they can to keep Blue away from photographers. But ultimately, I think you can expect to see her baby photos in a magazine pictorial, and that will be Blue's introduction to the world. That's the real reveal people want to see." </P><P> </P><P><i>Are you looking forward to the first photos of Blue Ivy? Tell us on our <a href="http://www.facebook.com/mtvnews" target="_blank">Facebook</a> page!</i></p>

Coldplay, Led Zeppelin Album Covers Featured On New British Stamps

Album art from Pink Floyd, Blur and David Bowie also included.
By James Montgomery

<P>On Thursday (January 7), the U.K.'s Royal Mail unveiled a series of 10 new stamps, honoring the most iconic album covers of the past 40 years. </P><P> </P><P>The albums featured in the new series are the <a href="/music/artist/rolling_stones/artist.jhtml">Rolling Stones</a>' <i>Let It Bleed,</i> <a href="/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a>'s <i>IV,</i> <a href="/music/artist/bowie_david/artist.jhtml">David Bowie</a>'s <i>The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars,</i> <a href="/music/artist/mike_oldfield/artist.jhtml">Mike Oldfield</a>'s <i>Tubular Bells,</i> <a href="/music/artist/clash/artist.jhtml">The Clash</a>'s <i>London Calling,</i> <a href="/music/artist/new_order/artist.jhtml">New Order</a>'s <i>Power, Corruption and Lies,</i> <a href="/music/artist/primal_scream/artist.jhtml">Primal Scream</a>'s <i>Screamadelica,</i> <a href="/music/artist/pink_floyd/artist.jhtml">Pink Floyd</a>'s <i>The Division Bell,</i> <a href="/music/artist/blur/artist.jhtml">Blur</a>'s <i>Parklife</i> and &#8212; the most recent album on to make the cut &#8212; <a href="/music/artist/coldplay/artist.jhtml">Coldplay</a>'s <i>A Rush of Blood to the Head.</i> </P><P> </P><P>Meant to honor "the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people's lives," the series is the end result of a lengthy research process by the Royal Mail, who looked through thousands of album covers by British artists before deciding on the final list. And, during a Wednesday night BBC Radio broadcast, it was revealed that the queen herself actually approved each design. </P><P> </P><P>Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page &#8212; who helped design the cover for <i>IV</i> &#8212; was on hand to celebrate the release of the stamps and recalled the mysterious nature of the album's iconic imagery. </P><P> </P><P>"Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him," he said. "That sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time." </P><P> </P><P>Of course, any great honor is befitting of an equally great contest, so, on the same day the stamps were made available to the general public, Coldplay decided to give one of their <i>Rush of Blood</i> stamps away. In a message on their official site, the band held a contest to send one lucky fan "a letter using a Coldplay stamp, postmarked with today's issue date." </P><P> </P><P>"We visited our local post office earlier today and bought some of the Coldplay stamps," the message read. "Very nice they are too."</p>

T.I. And B.o.B Wave Grand Hustle Flag At SXSW

Grand Hustle artists were joined by Wale, Meek Mill, Curren$y at Warner Music showcase.

AUSTIN, Texas — There was no shortage of options in Austin, Texas, on Thursday night if you happened to be a hip-hop fan at SXSW on the hunt for a good show. While Lil Wayne and YMCMB put their talents on display at Austin Music Hall, just five minutes down the road T.I., B.o.B, Wale, Meek Mill and Curren$y brought down the house at the Warner Sound showcase.

MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway hosted the event at La Zona Rosa, where Grand Hustle Records had a triumphant night and Maybach Music Group continued to rep their expanding roster. Curren$y, Kirko Bangz and XV got the packed house adequately warmed up for a night that easily stretched into the wee hours of Friday morning (March 16).

Grand Hustle announced their arrival with B.o.B's raucous entrance to "Beast Mode," backed by a live band. His next number, "How Bout Dat," commanded a fleet of backup dancers. He followed that with the upbeat single "Magic" off his debut album, B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The song faded into a dubstep beat, pushing the dancers front and center to showcase their moves before the venue finally went dark.

With nothing to see or hear, the crowd hung back, wondering what would be next. That would be Mr. Grand Hustle himself. "They say Grand Hustle is in the building," Tip announced over the mic, followed by a long pause before "I'm Back" came booming through the speakers.

"Rubberband Man" was a natural choice to follow, sending the crowd soaring along with "U Don't Know Me." Tip took a break only to plug his upcoming eighth album, Trouble Man, which is tentatively due out this summer, before continuing with fan favorites like "What You Know" and one of his more recent singles, "Pyro."

From there, B.o.B and T.I. continued to tag-team the set, and Tip was proud to announce that this was the first time he and his signee had "done a full show together."

Playboy Tre was on hand for "Bet I Bust." "Don't Let Me Fall" was delivered on acoustic guitar, and T.I. even threw in "Whatever You Like" to round out Bobby Ray's "Airplanes" and "Strange Clouds," the title track of his upcoming album.

It was already after midnight when MMG rappers Meek Mill, Stalley and Wale finally took the stage. Meek and Stalley were up first, with energetic singles like "I'ma Boss" aiming to keep the crowd going. Wale did his part to keep the energy alive, performing his hits "Lotus Flower Bomb" and "Slight Work" and commanding a guest appearance from Travis Porter. The D.C. rapper closed out the night with his street anthem "Bait" and the cult favorite "No Hands."

Katy Perry's Wild Road To 'Part Of Me'

Perry will debut the video for her hit on 'MTV First: Katy Perry' on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV.

Katy Perry's 2011 was huge, and 2012 is shaping up to be even bigger with the March 27 release of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection and a new album in the works.

We're just days away from "MTV First: Katy Perry," when the pop star will debut her video for "Part of Me." The special airs Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV ahead of a 30-minute interview on MTV.com. But before that, we decided to look back on the superstar's crazy year.

» February 13, 2011:Perry walked into the 53rd Grammy Awards as one of the top nominees. Her Teenage Dream was up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, and the tracks "Teenage Dream" and "California Gurls" were nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Collaboration, respectively. She also hit the stage to perform a medley of her Dream tracks "Not Like the Movies" and "Teenage Dream." During "Movies," Perry floated over the audience while footage from her lavish wedding ceremony in India to Russell Brand played on a screen behind her.

» February 20, 2011: The pop diva kicked off her California Dreams World Tour in Lisbon, Portugal. At the time, she told MTV News that her favorite songs to perform for her sellout arena audiences were the big anthems, like "Firework." "I started writing songs like 'Firework' and 'Teenage Dream' and songs that I think now are anthems for people," she explained. "When I'm playing 'Firework,' the whole arena literally moves up and down. It's the song that people are holding onto and inspired by."

» May 3, 2011: Though they were plagued throughout their marriage by rumors of discord, Perry gushed about Brand in the May issue of Vanity Fair, saying, "[He] never lied to me once. I trust him; there's just a level of trust that we've built up."

» July 20, 2011: Perry scores a leading nine nominations for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, including bids for Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Special Effects and the biggie, Video of the Year, for her smash "Firework" clip.

» August 17, 2011: When her summer hit "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" moved into the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, it marked the fifth #1 hit from Perry's Teenage Dream. The achievement tied Michael Jackson's record, set with 1987's Bad, for the most #1 hits from a single album.

» August 29, 2011: Perry wins the Video of the Year VMA for "Firework." "Oh my goodness! Thank you so much," Perry said while accepting the prize. "This has been a night of firsts. This is my second Moonman. I'm very proud of the song it stands for, which is 'Firework.' I feel like I am doing something right when I sing that song. So thanks to everyone who helped to create it."

» November 11, 2011: Appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to tout the end of her successful California Dreams Tour, Perry told DeGeneres she wanted kids with Brand. "I would love to have children. I think that's one of the reasons you get married, and especially to the person that you marry. You think, 'Hmmm, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent,' " Perry said. "But I'm not sure it's yet. We'll see, you know?" During the sit-down, she admitted that she and Brand worked hard to see each other while she was on tour but that it was often a challenge. "Two weeks, that's the longest we ever go. Anything longer than that is not fun."

» December 11, 2011: Perry hosted "Saturday Night Live" and was a big hit. Poking fun at fellow celebs like Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch and Pippa Middleton, Perry brought "SNL" its best ratings since its popular November 5 episode hosted by comedian Charlie Day. Speaking to MTV News on the "SNL" set, Perry said something that took on a whole new meaning just a few short weeks later. "I've only ever hosted, like, dinner parties and birthday parties. This is a bit more than that," she joked. "I'm up for a challenge, for something new. I love to be challenged — I married Russell Brand."

» December 25, 2011: Katy was spotted splashing around in the ocean in Hawaii without Russell and not wearing her wedding ring. Just days later, Brand's ring finger was bare when photographers caught him out walking in London.

» December 30, 2011: With the new year looming, Brand filed for divorce from Perry, citing "irreconcilable differences." No separation date was provided in the filing.

» January 13, 2012: After canceling her first scheduled post-split appearance at the People's Choice Awards, Perry finally steps out of hiding to tape a commercial for Adidas. A photo of the star, sporting brand-new blue locks, is the first of her post-split.

» February 1, 2012: After receiving a Record of the Year Grammy nomination for "Firework," Perry is announced as a performer at the 54th Grammy Awards.

» February 12, 2012: Perry performed her new single, "Part of Me," from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection at the Grammys. The song was widely believed to be a kiss-off directed at Brand because of lyrics like "Look at me/ I'm sparkling/ You will never put me out again/ So you can keep the diamond ring/ It don't mean nothing anyway." During a recent interview with MTV News, however, the pop star denied the song was about her ex, saying she wrote the track two years ago.

"I wrote it two years ago, which is funny because everybody is like, 'God, it sounds so current,' " she told MTV News. "And some people that I work with were like 'You should just say you wrote it a couple of weeks ago.' I'm like 'I'm not a d---, I'm going to tell the truth.' I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream, [but] it didn't feel right on the record. I would've had to take out one of my other songs that [made the album] a nice, complete package."

» February 23, 2012: >> "Part of Me" debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming just the 20th track to debut on the top of the tally and selling a massive 448,000 downloads in its debut frame, the most of any song since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" dropped almost exactly a year earlier.
