Sherri Shepherd was sent packing last night on Dancing With The Stars! Tears were flowing as the fan favorite ended her time in the ballroom. You can see her emotional good-bye right here, trust me though you are going to need some tissues. I was shocked when I learned that Sherri and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy had not only landed in the bottom two but that they were the team eliminated. I was not expecting them to go, nor was I expecting The View co-host to get so emotional. Although Shepherd was crying over her having to leave the ballroom she gave a great speech and left fans with some words of wisedom. ?To every person out there that the thing that scares you most, run toward it, because it?s so amazing on the other side.? 'The Casual Vacancy,' Rowling's first adult novel, will be released on September 27.

It's been five long years since J.K. Rowling published "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," and now we finally have the name and release date for her first adult novel. "The Casual Vacancy" will be released by Little, Brown Book Group on September 27.
When Rowling signed her deal with Little, Brown in February, few details about the novel were made public, but now we know it is the "blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising" tale of what happens in an idyllic English village after a parish councilmember dies unexpectedly leaving a hotly sought after seat on the town council open.
"When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock," the official synopsis reads, going on to describe "a town at war."
"Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?"
At the U.K. premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," Rowling told MTV News that she had been writing actively since finishing the final "Potter" book, but wanted the film franchise to conclude before she moved forward with her writing career. "I'm writing, and I've done quite a lot since finishing 'Harry,' " she said. "I also felt I wanted the last film out of the way before I made any moves on the publishing front. 'Harry' is so huge and I suppose my involvement with the world has still been quite intense. This feels like a new beginning to me."
The seven "Potter" books represent the best-selling book series in history, with more than 450 million copies in print, and inspired the most successful film franchise ever, grossing more than $7.7 billion worldwide. Scholastic published Rowling's "Potter" books in the U.S. but does not publish novels for adult audiences.
Little, Brown said the 480-page "Casual Vacancy" will be available as a traditional hardcover, but will also be sold as an e-book and audio download.

The Dallas Mavericks and Lamar Odom are dunzo! Yes Khloe and her hubby are biding adieu to Dallas and headed back home to L.A. After barely a season as a player for the Dallas Mavericks, Odom and the NBA team have reached an agreement to part ways. 'Dancing with the Stars' also wins big at 23rd annual show celebrating the LGBT community.

Gomez says she's 'halting music for a bit' to focus on acting.

Selena Gomez is done being a "Spring Breaker" and now she's getting ready to film her next movie. In an online video Q&A with her fans, she opened up about her edgier movie roles, including her next film with Ethan Hawke.
"I'm doing another movie called 'The Getaway' with Ethan Hawke. It's really, really exciting," she shared. "I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming. It's more of an action movie, which is also different. So we're doing that and then hopefully another movie, but that hasn't really been confirmed yet. Then I'll start working on my fourth album, which will be the best album I'll ever do! But I'm just kind of halting music for a bit."
She added that she's "been really focused on more acting. For me it's been fun to take risks and do things that are completely different. To be honest maybe some of you guys might not be comfortable with it. ... I'm still the same person. Things that challenge me really excite me."
That focus includes the forthcoming Eli Roth thriller, "Aftershock," and the aforementioned "Spring Breakers." Gomez had only praise for that film's director, Harmony Korine ("Kids"). "He is such a brilliant director; he is so smart. He gave us direction but half the time he let us do our thing," she said. "He gave me this freedom, but he allowed me to prove myself. He's so great."
In addition to all the big-screen business, the actress and singer will also get the small-screen treatment on "Glee." According to E! News, in the prom episode, shot last week, Lea Michele reportedly sings Selena's track "Love You Like a Love Song." According to sources, the powerhouse vocalist put out "a really powerful performance" of Gomez's song.

'You will always remember where you were ... when you heard the news,' Simon Cowell says, echoing the sentiments after Jackson's death.

<P>Few people will forget where they were when they heard that the King of Pop, <a href="/news/articles/1614744/michael-jackson-dies-at-50.jhtml">Michael Jackson, had died</a> in June 2009. And now, the same can be said for 1980s and '90s <a href="/news/articles/1679029/whitney-houston-dead.jhtml">Queen of Pop Whitney Houston</a>. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Celebrities React To Whitney Houston's Passing" id="vid:733106.id:1679030" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>The beloved, long-suffering singer died Saturday inside a Beverly Hills hotel room, hours before she was expected to attend a <a href="/news/articles/1679046/whitney-houston-dies-grammys-clive-davis.jhtml">pre-Grammy Awards party thrown by her longtime mentor Clive Davis</a>. </P><P> </P><P>And while the official cause of death is yet unknown — what's been speculated so far is that <a href="/news/articles/1679049/whitney-houston-dies-details.jhtml">Houston may have drowned</a> in the bathtub after taking prescription drugs, including Xanax — given her very public struggle with substance abuse, depression and anxiety over the past decade, it's hard not to conclude that some drug- or alcohol-related accident may have been to blame. </P><P> </P><P>It's much like, most recently, British singer Amy Winehouse and the late, great Michael Jackson before her, who died after taking a fatal cocktail of propofol and two other drugs. Also like Jackson, Houston's sudden death — at the age of 48 — has stopped the world in its tracks, an enormous, one-of-a-kind musical flame forever extinguished. </P><P> </P><P>Even Jackson's brother, Jermaine — who was first introduced to Houston years ago by Clive Davis at the same Beverly Hills Hilton where the singer passed away — could not help but draw the comparison. In an interview with CNN overnight, he paid tribute to the two fallen musical giants. "They shared a lot of success in the late '80s and they were great friends," he said. "I'm happy and honored to have been a part of their lives." </P><P> </P><P>And oh, what lives they led: Like Jackson — who died at just 50 years old, after years of struggling with personal demons — Houston, too, had an intensely profound and everlasting impact on the world of entertainment. </P><P> </P><P>Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and countless other chart-topping entertainers have all name-checked her as their musical mentor, icon and inspiration: To date, she is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with more than 170 million albums, songs and videos sold. </P><P> </P><P>In her lifetime, Houston achieved what precious few of them have or ever will — stacking an astonishing 415 awards, including six Grammys, two Emmys, 22 American Music Awards, 30 <i>Billboard</i> Awards. </P><P> </P><P>Her voice, in its prime, was a national treasure. </P><P> </P><P>"X Factor" mastermind Simon Cowell may have summed it up the best: On "Piers Morgan Tonight," he said, "She was one of the greatest voices in our lifetime. Both Amber Rose & Rihanna seem to be fans of the fun fashion company JOYRICH. Both recently rocked the bone-ridden pants from the company's newest collection, and both chicks rocked the look totally differently.

This morning in NYC, Amber Rose was spotted leaving her hotel, Trump Soho (the same hotel Kim K. is coincidentally staying in right now as well), in a matchy look. The 29-year-old model/singer rocked JOYRICH's Spring/Summer 2012 “Bone Collection” sweat pant and paired them with the matching Bone Collection jacket. She scrunched up the pants and rocked her black studded Louboutin pumps to dress up the look. And threw on a pair of diamond stud earrings.
But pop diva Rihanna was first to rock JOYRICH's Bone Collection pants this past February while in London. The 24-year-old paired her pants with black Adidas sneakers, a black & white tee, and a leather jacket to keep the look casual. And she topped it off with a bright red baseball cap and oversized silver hoops.

It seems odd that relaxed-khaki rockers the Fray would inspire acrimony of any sort (unless you hate "Grey's Anatomy"), but that's exactly what's happened following their performance of the national anthem at Monday night's NCAA national championship basketball game.
To be honest, we didn't think it was that bad, but critics have been savaging the band for their jangly spin on "The Star-Spangled Banner," calling it everything from "dreadful" to "acoustic, emo and mercifully quick" ( two assessments that could equally have been applied to the actual championship game, now that we think of it).
And while they may not be fair, those criticisms automatically add the Fray to the rather lengthy list of truly terrible national anthem performances. From crotch-grabbing comediennes to winded, warbling sprinters, here's a look at some of the all-time worst. For the record, we don't think the Fray's version belongs anywhere on this list, but, hey, anytime you find yourself included alongside Steven Tyler and R. Kelly, you've got to be doing something right ... right?
Roseanne Barr
A performance so putrid we're still talking about it 20 years after the fact. In a move that was either inspired or completely insane (probably both), the San Diego Padres invited the foul-mouthed comedienne to sing the national anthem before a game, and, well, they got everything they could've expected ... and more. After screeching her way through the song, Barr was showered with boos and showed her gratitude by grabbing her crotch and spitting. Amazingly, this was a huge deal, and she was vilified in the press. Sort of makes you miss the simpler times of H.W. Bush America, doesn't it?
Carl Lewis
Hey, he's an Olympic champion — surely he can sing, right? Wrong. Lewis' gloriously off-key rendition of the anthem was so bad, people were asking him to give his medals back. As the 20th anniversary of his anthem approaches, it's difficult to pick the worst (i.e. greatest) moment: His Crayola-colored suit? The part where he cracks a note and, as the crowd jeers, declares "Uh oh! I'mma make up for it now"? Watching members of the Chicago Bulls trying (and failing) to stifle fits of laughter? Nah, you know what? We're going to go with the New Jersey Nets' 1993 warm-ups. Those things are still hilarious.
R. Kelly
Call it the Massacre at Mandalay Bay. Before a big-ticket Vegas boxing match, Mr. Robert Kelly strode to the center of the ring and delivered a delirious, step-show-ready version of the anthem. Sure, he sings it well (since R. Kelly is amazing), but as a sheer stylistic choice, well, this one was a total bomb. Not surprisingly, despite Kelly's repeated insistences, no one in the audience clapped their hands. Instead, they just booed.
Michael Bolton
Performing the anthem at Fenway Park, before the Red Sox and the Yankees met for a pivotal 2003 American League Championship game, Bolton made two key errors: One, he totally forgot the lyrics and was forced to read them off the palm of his hand (the crowd lustily booed him for the move), and two, he was Michael Bolton. In Boston. Before a Yankees game. Being from Connecticut wasn't enough to save him or this performance.
Christina Aguilera
Poor Xtina. Performing before an audience of millions at Super Bowl XLV, she fumbled pretty much everything: missing notes and screwing up lyrics (we like the part where she goes "the twilight's last reaming"). She was "devastated" by the mistakes, and since she's done the anthem so well — and so often — before, we're willing to forgive this one. Also, we love her on "The Voice."
Steven Tyler
Yowch. Tyler delivered a cringe-worthy version of the anthem before the Patriots/Ravens AFC Championship game in January, and not even his sparkly Pats scarf could save him from getting booed. It was wobbly, shouty and even a tad pitchy, dawg. Good thing he's not responsible for judging a singing competition or anything.

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes adopted a daughter named Emerson Pearl through a domestic adoption in February, Us Weekly reports.
Bringing Emerson home to join big sister Harper was a plan long in the works for Shonda, who says her friends and colleagues at Grey's, Private Practice and her new ABC series, Scandal, found the news a surprise.
