Jennifer Lawrence is less than 50 days away from debuting as teen-lit heroine Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, but she nearly didn't take the life-changing role. Despite beating out fellow award-winning young actresses like Hailee Steinfeld, Saoirse Ronan and Shailene Woodley for the much-coveted part, Lawrence waited three days to respond to Lionsgate Films' offer.
